Saudi Arabian SBL round 16 best performance: Donte McGill (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Donte McGill (190-G-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for Al Wehda Mecca, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 28-year old player got a double-double of 53 points and 11 assists, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Al Taawoun (#12, 0-15) with 17-point margin 100-83. Al Wehda maintains the 7th position in Saudi Arabian SBL. Al Wehda is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-8 record. In the team's last game McGill had a remarkable 64.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Wehda's top player in his first season with the team. Former Florida International University star has very solid stats this year. McGill is league's best scorer averaging so far 32.6ppg. McGill is in league's top in and averages impressive 61.3% FGP and 44.1% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention McGill played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Josh Nicholas (190-G-1998) of Deba. Nicholas had a very good evening with a triple-double of 36 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Bad luck as Deba lost that game 105-122 to the higher-ranked Ohod (#5, 9-6). Deba is still in a red zone at 11th spot in the standings. 13 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Nicholas is a newcomer at Deba, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 30.0ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 4.2apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Bosnia and Herzegovina center Markus Loncar (213-C-1996) of Al Taawoun (#12). Loncar scored 29 points and grabbed 23 rebounds (!!!). Despite Loncar's great performance the Al Taawoun lost 83-100 to the higher-ranked Al Wehda (#7, 8-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Al Taawoun can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 15 games. Loncar has individually a great season in Saudi Arabia. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.0rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.2bpg and a FGP of 71.1%.
